Few knew what Lindenwood and Sioux Falls shared in 2009 championship

Enjoyed the article about Lindenwood. Did you know that the same coach who started the Lindenwood program was the same coach who turned the Sioux Falls program around from a losing program to a winner. David Schroeder was at Sioux Falls in the late 70's and early 80's. The mascot was the braves and they were not very good. During Schroeder's first year they broke a losing streak that had extended to 17 games.

Before he left to go turn the Emanuel College program around, the now Sioux Falls Cougar had earned a conference championship. In his second year at Emanuel he posted the first wining football season in Emanuel's history and took them much further before his departure that landed him at Lindenwood.

After a successful launch at Lindenwood, Schroeder headed to Westmar University to turn that program around.
