The biggest rivalry baseball is the Red Sox - Yankees and it is undeniable that the best all time Major League Baseball (MLB) team is the New York Yankees. The Yankees are based in the Bronx, in New York, and are part of the Eastern Division of the American League. The club was known as the New York Highlanders before changing their name officially to Yankees in 1913.

The New York Yankees have won more championships than any team in the professional North American sports history, with 26 World Series and 39 American League Pennants. They are also well known for trading in a player to get Babe Ruth from the Red Sox, which turned out to be a devastating event for the Boston team.

The Yankees also starred other all star players like Joe DiMaggio, Lou Gehrig, Mickey Mantle and Alex Rodriguez, among many others.

The impressive thing with the New York Yankees is that they are so popular among baseball fans that their fan base extends far beyond the New York City area. The Yankees have beaten the attendance record of the American League 83 times in the last 87 years. With such a fan following, it is fair to say that the New York Yankees are the best all time pro baseball team in the world of baseball. A lot of celebrities also follow their seasons, such as NYC’s ex-mayor Rudy Giuliani, actor/director Billy Crystal, actors Jack Nicholson and Denzel Washington, sportsman Tom Brady, Chris Drury and Ron Wilson, musicians Bob Dylan and Jay-Z, and many others. While fans of other teams have come to hate the Yankees, due to their incredible success, the team has a following big enough to have nothing to worry about.

Another tradition of this great franchise is the songs chosen to accompany each of their star players when they get out of the bullpen. Bernie Williams is usually accompanied by a Disco Inferno’s Burn Baby Burn chant, Mariano Rivera is associated to Enter Sandman (Metallica) and Joba Chamberlain is usually accompanied by Motley Crue’s Shout at the Devil.

No matter what Red Sox fans might say, there is no denial that the great and talented New York Yankees are the best all time MLB baseball team and have been so for many, many years, which does nothing but enhance the Yankees’ legacy.
