ACC Top College Sports Conference

Sorry, gotta disagree. The ACC is the best overall college sports conference.
With an even dozen schools, the Atlantic Coast Conference is one of the most well-known college sports conferences in the country. The schools consist of Georgia Tech, Duke, Wake Forest, University of North Carolina, North Carolina State, Florida State, the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Miami University, just to name a few of the well respected schools in the conference.
As an NCAA Division IA conference, these schools have great sports programs that are nationally ranked in baseball, men's and women's basketball, and football. ACC schools also sport numerous official or unofficial NCAA national championships in various sports.
The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) has two basketball teams ranked in the top 5 in all-time NCAA basketball wins. Duke University's Blue Devils and the University of North Carolina's Tarheels are among the most winning programs in NCAA history.
Out of all of the sports, the ACC is the best conference for men's basketball in the recent past, as the University of North Carolina and Duke University have a combined thirty-two appearances in the Final Four, with eight total titles (source: http://en.wikipedia.org). The ACC has a total of forty-two Final Four visits and eleven basketball championships to the credit of the men's programs.
For the women's programs, the ACC has a total of two championships and eleven Final Four visits, which is respectable when one program (Tennessee)
has dominated women's basketball since 1982 when the Women's Division I National Championship started. (source: http://en.wikipedia.org).
One of the most famous men's basketball programs is Duke University, which, under head coach Mike Krzyzewski, has won three national championships and has made ten Final Four visits. North Carolina is another great basketball school, as, under former Head Coach Dean Smith, they have made eleven Final Four visits and two championships. Basketball is widely regarded as one of the two "Major sports" along with football, and the ACC can claim 7 NCAA Basketball Championships since 1990.
Many of the NBA's all-time most successful players, including Tim Duncan, Vince Carter, Michael Jordan, Chris Paul, Chris Bosh and Carlos Boozer starred at ACC schools. With this success in basketball, the ACC is the conference to beat in college basketball, especially when you consider men's basketball.
In football -- Miami, FSU and Virginia Tech have each had some struggles in recent seasons, but their proud history includes seven college football national championships.
And what is even more amazing is that the ACC is known for its academics and also competes well in a number of other collegiate sports. In fact, counting all NCAA sports, since the conference's birth, ACC schools have captured 105 national championships, including 56 in women's competition and 49 in men's. In addition, NCAA individual titles have gone to ACC student-athletes 139 times in men's competition and 86 times in women's action.
