Big East is Top Overall Sports Conference

Hands down, no doubt, the best conference in the country -- nay, the WORLD -- is the Big East Conference. As a student at the University of Connecticut, I have taken in some spectacular events: football (I was at both the Meineke Car Care Bowl in Dec. 2007 and the International Bowl in Jan. 2009), basketball (went to the Final Four in Detroit in April 2009), soccer (I am the head of the country's largest student soccer support group, the UConn Goal Patrol), field hockey, baseball, hockey...you name it.
Sure, the SEC has it's atmosphere for football, which probably defeats ours blindfolded. But the Big East is the best for one reason:
success. By the numbers: 10 national championships for men's basketball (44 Final Fours). In the last 3 seasons, Big East football has gone 12-4 (.750) in bowl games; while the SEC is 19-7 (.731). Soccer, combined men's and women's all-time, the Big E is 6-1 in national championships, and 17-1 in championship game appearances.
So while the SEC certainly beats out the lowly Big Ten, it doesn't hold a candle to the dominance that the Big East has in all of its sports. Hands down, no doubt, the best NCAA college sports conference in the country is the Big East.
