Michigan and Big Ten Best College Football

by Lisa
(Warren, MICHIGAN)

Hi, I'm Lisa (yes that means I'm a girl). I've also been referred to as a "skirt" by Sean Baligian of Sports Radio 1130 WDFN, and as he says, "skirts" always go to the front of the line when calling in to talk sports.

Though I'm not the stereotypical sports fan (a heterosexual male), I am a huge fan of college sports, particularly my team, Michigan; and my conference, the Big Ten. The Big 10 and particularly the Wolverines are the best ncaa f-ball team and conference.

First, let's start with the best teams (in my opinion) in the conference. You have Ohio State (consistently top notch, thanks to Jim Tressel's elite coaching), Michigan (who, under the coaching of men like Bo Schembechler and Lloyd Carr, was a force to be reckoned with), and in years past, Penn State, Wisconsin, and two years ago, Michigan State.

Now, I am personally a HUGE Michigan fan, and have been since I was a kid. I truly feel they are the best NC team of all time. When you see consistency in a football program, year after year (with the exception of last year of course, no thanks to Rich Rodriguez), you can't help but admire them.

Plus you see unbelievable players like Braylon Edwards and Tom Brady move on to have successful NFL careers. Clearly the Michigan program is doing something right. I know I'm biased in saying this, but I truly believe that the Michigan - Ohio State rivalry is the BEST rivalry in college football. Ohio State truly hates Michigan, and the feeling is 100% reciprocated. It's something that is talked about here in Michigan pretty much year round.

Overall, the Michigan Wolverines have had a pretty solid run, and they should continue to in the years ahead. Hopefully Rodriguez can gel with his players, and eventually produce a solid, consistent team that plays defensively, knows how to run the ball, and can take out giants like Ohio State and USC. Go Blue!!
