Best All Time College Baseball Conference

We pick the Southeastern Conference (SEC) as the best all time college baseball conference. Some other top NCAA baseball conferences are the Pacific 10, ACC, America East, Atlantic Sun, Big 10, WCC, Patriot League, SWAC, Southland, Mountain West, Summit League, Ivy League and Big 12. Of course, the SEC doesn't win the College World Series each year, but, overall, it's the top NCAA baseball conference.

The Southeastern Conference, or SEC, is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama and the SEC Baseball Tournaments first started in 1977. The format of the Southeastern Conference has always been double eliminations. The winner of the conference title automatically gets a bid to the NCAA Division I Championship Tournament, which ends with the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.

What makes SEC baseball more exciting than other college baseball is that, it has the best rivalries around. LSU, Mississippi State, Alabama and Georgia all have great rivalries between each other as they are the top programs in the conference. Yet it is the Ole Miss vs Mississippi State baseball rivalry that is probably the best of all SEC baseball rivalries. By the droves fans flock to see these series play out and come to support their teams. The Southeastern Conference brings in the biggest crowds and the most revenue of all baseball conferences.

The SEC has 7 College World Series titles all together; all since 1990. LSU has 6 of them (including 2009); the Georgia Bulldogs won it all in 1990. There are 12 schools that play baseball in the SEC: Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Those who already have won and SEC baseball title are the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama, Auburn, LSU Tigers, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Ole Miss Rebels, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt Commodores, Arkansas Razorback, South Carolina Gamecocks and Kentucky. The most famous SEC baseball player is Todd Helton who played for the Tennessee Volunteers and now is a Major League Baseball star with the Colorado Rockies.
